Frequently Asked Questions

42 / 42
What does the .P suffix in the watchlist mean?
The .P (perpetual) suffix appended to the quote asset means the row points at a Binance Futures perpetual contract. For example, BTC USDT is spot Bitcoin while BTC USDT.P is futures Bitcoin. This way you can track the spot and futures markets of the same coin side by side in one watchlist; there is no SPOT/FUTURES toggle at the top.
What is AlertaScript?
AlertaScript is AlertaChart's indicator and strategy language. Trader, Pro and Elite can use the full editor to create custom indicators, overlays and sub-panes, save scripts, share supported script links and run strategy tests. Pro and Elite additionally unlock the separate Pro indicator set and advanced technical-alert features.
What is AlertaPractice (paper trading)?
The TRADE button above the chart opens the paper-trading panel. With a $50,000 starting balance, you can place market and limit orders against real-time prices, track open-position PnL, and see your trades as markers on the chart. You can reset the balance and start over anytime. No real money is at risk — ideal for testing strategies, putting your alerts into practice, and validating AlertaScript strategies against live data.
How can I set an alert on the chart?
Right-click on the desired price level on the chart and select "Set Alert". Alternatively, you can also set alerts from the Alerts panel on the right.
How can I use the drawing tools?
You can access drawing tools from the toolbar below the chart. Many tools are available such as trend lines, horizontal lines, Fibonacci, etc. On mobile, tap the blue button in the bottom right to access the tools.
Which drawing tools are supported on the chart?
47 drawing tools are supported. Basic: trend line, horizontal/vertical line, ray, arrow, cross-line. Shapes: rectangle, circle, ellipse, triangle, channel, wedge. Fibonacci family: retracement, extension, time-zone, fan, arc, circle, spiral. Advanced: Gann fan, Gann box, Gann square, pitchfork (3 variants), speed-line, anchored VWAP. Position tools: long position, short position, price range, date range. Pattern recognition: head & shoulders, triangle, ABCD, Elliott waves (3 types). Text/labels: text, note, anchored text, price label, callout, signpost. All tools are accessed from the left toolbar on desktop and from the blue button in the bottom-right on mobile.
How does Bar Replay work?
Bar Replay starts at Starter. It rewinds the chart to a historical point and lets you play, pause or advance candle by candle for practice. The available history and number of charts still follow the selected plan limits.
How do I use the multi-chart layout?
Choose a supported grid from the chart layout control and assign a symbol or timeframe to each pane. The maximum simultaneous charts are 1 on Free, 2 on Starter, 4 on Trader, 8 on Pro and 16 on Elite.
How do I add chart indicators?
Click the settings button on the chart. You can activate indicators like RSI, MACD, EMA, SMA, Bollinger Bands from the Indicators section.
Which custom indicators does Alerta Pro unlock?
Pro members get access to AlertaChart's custom premium indicators on top of the standard set (RSI, MACD, EMA, SMA, Bollinger, etc.): SMC (Smart Money Concepts — order blocks, BOS/CHOCH, FVGs), Liquidity Vacuum, Killzones (Asia/London/NY session zones), Trend Strength, advanced anchored VWAP variants, and more. You can also write your own custom indicators in the AlertaScript editor and apply them to any chart.
How do I add symbols to the watchlist?
Click the "+" button in the Watchlist panel. The search is unified — crypto pairs, futures (.P), stocks, forex, and global indices all show up in the same search. Click a result row to add it. The chips at the top filter by categories like MAJOR/DEFI/MEME or by your starred favorites.
Does the watchlist only support crypto?
No — the watchlist is unified. The same list holds Binance spot crypto, Binance futures (.P), stocks in 17 global regions (AAPL, NVDA, BABA, 7203, etc.), 46 forex pairs (EURUSD, USDJPY, GBPUSD, etc.), and global index perpetuals (NAS100, SPX500) side by side. Each row routes to the correct data feed for its asset class automatically.
What is the difference between BTC USDT and BTC USDT.P?
The spot market trades real assets, while futures trade derivative products. AlertaChart no longer has a global SPOT/FUTURES toggle — both markets for the same coin sit as separate rows in your watchlist (e.g. BTC USDT and BTC USDT.P). Click whichever you want and the chart switches instantly.
How do real-time price updates work?
Real-time price data flows from Binance Spot and Futures for crypto, separate live streams for stocks and forex, and an index feed for global indices. You can see the connection status with the green/red dot on the chart.
Do my alerts still trigger when the app is closed?
Price alerts on Starter, Trader, Pro and Elite are monitored on AlertaChart servers 24/7 and can send native iOS or Android push notifications while the app is closed. Free alerts are evaluated locally and require AlertaChart to remain open. Device notification permission and operating-system Focus or battery settings can still affect delivery.
How many alerts can I set?
Free: 2 active alerts, and only while the app is open. Every paid tier runs alerts on our servers 24/7; the cap is 20 on Starter, 100 on Trader, 400 on Pro and 1,000 on Elite. Pro and Elite add the same allowance again in indicator alerts (RSI, MACD, Stochastic, Stoch RSI, CCI, Williams %R, ATR).
Are my alerts automatically monitored?
Every paid tier (Starter, Trader, Pro and Elite) runs price alerts on AlertaChart servers 24/7 and can notify you when the app is closed. Free alerts are evaluated locally and require the app to be open. Technical, trendline and watchlist-scan alerts start at Pro.
Could an alarm I set on the futures chart accidentally be saved to spot?
No. Each alarm is bound to the (exchange, symbol) pair it was created on. An alarm set on the BTC USDT.P futures chart is stored against the futures side, while one set on BTC USDT spot is stored against the spot side. The bell icon in the watchlist matches both fields, so a futures alarm only lights up the futures row, never the spot row next to it.
What are the 5 custom Pro alarms you can set in Settings?
Beyond basic price alerts, Pro users can set 5 custom alarm types: (1) Price Alerts — the classic above/below; (2) Volume Alerts — when a custom volume threshold is breached; (3) Percentage Alerts — % change within a chosen window; (4) Funding Rate Alerts — when futures funding crosses a threshold; (5) Change Alerts — bar-level price-change monitoring. All of them are managed under Settings > Custom Alerts, are watched 24/7 server-side, and push notifications fire even when the app is closed.
Can I get notifications when new coins are listed?
Yes. Turn on exchange-listing notifications under Settings > Notification Preferences; you receive an instant push notification the moment one of the exchanges we track lists a new coin or symbol. Pro users also see full announcement details (symbol, listing time, contract address, category) in the announcements screen.
Do big liquidations come through as push notifications on mobile?
Yes. Single liquidations of $1,000,000 USD or more are pushed to the mobile app automatically (native notifications on iOS and Android). The threshold is currently fixed at $1M; you receive the notification even when the app is closed or backgrounded. Inside the Liquidations tab you can additionally pick any min threshold for live filtering, but push delivery is gated at $1M+.
Can I see alert history?
Yes, you can see your past alerts and trigger statuses in the Alerts panel.
Which asset classes and markets are supported?
Crypto: Binance Spot and Futures. Equities: 17 global regions (NYSE, NASDAQ, LSE, XETRA, HKEX, TSE and more). Forex: 46 pairs (majors + minors + exotics). Global index perpetuals: NAS100, SPX500.
What does the Discover (Keşfet) tab show?
The Discover tab gives a bird's-eye view of the market: Market Breadth (advancing/declining/unchanged ratio and advance/decline line), Top Movers (biggest % gainers and losers), MA Health (how many coins are above/below their 50-period MA), DFM distribution (5 buckets from oversold to overbought), High Alpha (unusual volatility/volume candidates), and Volume Anomalies (volume diverging from the 30-day average). Spot and futures can be switched instantly and independently.
What do the Liquidations and Funding tabs show?
Liquidations tab: real-time liquidation feed from Binance Futures — direction (LONG forced sell / SHORT covered), symbol, price, USD value, timestamp. Min threshold filter (e.g. $1M+), total volume, largest single liquidation, and long/short ratio. Funding tab: countdown to next funding settlement (8-hour UTC), top 25 most positive funding rates, top 25 most negative, and a searchable list across all markets. For each symbol you see funding %, mark price, next settlement time, and open interest. Both tabs are Pro features.
Where do Liquidation and Orderflow data come from?
Real-time liquidation and order-flow data is derived from the supported futures market feeds. The Liquidations, Funding, Level 2, AGGR and wider order-flow toolset start at Pro; availability can vary by market and symbol.
What is AlertaTrade?
AlertaTrade is AlertaChart Pro's whale-tracking and aggregated trade-flow panel (aggr.alertachart.com). A single view shows big-buyer/big-seller pressure across multiple exchanges, whale wallet activity, and the aggregate trade tape. Use it to see at which levels serious money is entering or leaving the market.
What is the Financial Juice live news feed?
Financial Juice is the live-news widget embedded in AlertaChart for market headlines and macro releases. It appears in the supported web and mobile news surfaces. Automatic Turkish news translation starts at Trader; the original feed and individual source availability can vary.
What are the premium membership benefits?
There are four paid tiers. Starter removes ads and unlocks Bar Replay, second-based and custom timeframes, and server-side alerts. Trader adds stocks and forex, AlertaScript, cloud sync, the Discover scanner and strategy testing. Pro brings the order-flow suite (CVD, Open Interest, Funding, liquidations, Level 2, AGGR), the Pro indicators, and indicator / trendline / watchlist alerts. Elite is the same feature set at the highest limits: 16 charts, 1,000 alerts, 25 watchlists.
Where can I start and manage a subscription?
Web subscriptions use Lemon Squeezy; iOS subscriptions use the App Store; Android subscriptions use Google Play. Each storefront shows the available monthly and yearly plans before purchase. Billing, renewal, cancellation and refund requests are handled by the channel where you subscribed. Sign in to the same AlertaChart account on every platform so the verified entitlement can be linked to that account.
Is there a free trial period?
Creating an account does not start a trial by itself. Eligible new iOS or Android subscribers may see a store-managed 3-day free trial on participating monthly products. The offer and eligibility shown on the App Store or Google Play purchase screen are authoritative. A web purchase does not promise a trial. Unless cancelled before the trial ends, the store renews at the displayed price.
What are the payment methods?
iOS payments are processed by Apple, Android payments by Google Play, and web payments by Lemon Squeezy. The provider decides which cards, wallet balance or local payment methods are accepted. The final currency, tax and total shown on its checkout screen are authoritative.
How can I cancel my subscription?
Manage an iOS purchase in App Store Subscriptions, an Android purchase in Google Play Subscriptions, and a web purchase through the Lemon Squeezy customer-portal link in its confirmation email. Cancelling stops the next renewal; access normally remains until the current paid or trial period ends. A refund is a separate request handled under that provider’s rules.
How do I change my tier or monthly/yearly billing period?
Make the change through the purchase channel: App Store on iOS, Google Play on Android, or the Lemon Squeezy customer portal on the web. Whether a switch is offered and whether it applies immediately or at period end is provider-specific; the confirmation screen's date and amount are authoritative. If the requested switch is unavailable, cancel the current renewal and buy the correct plan after the period ends.
What happens to an existing legacy Premium subscription?
The app maps a valid legacy Premium App Store or Google Play receipt to Elite access, so an active legacy subscriber is not locked out. Price and renewal terms remain controlled by the purchased store product. When that subscription expires, is not renewed, or the receipt is no longer valid, the paid tier is removed; a previously stored Elite label alone does not preserve access.
Why does my subscription not appear active?
First confirm that the subscription is active in the store where it was purchased and that the app is signed into the same AlertaChart account that should receive the entitlement. Store catalog propagation or receipt verification can take a short time. On mobile use Restore Purchases; for a web subscription check the Lemon Squeezy confirmation and the account email you used. If it remains inactive, send the order/receipt identifier through the private Support form.
What does Restore Purchases do?
On iOS or Android it re-reads purchases returned by the store account, verifies the receipt on the backend, and applies the highest valid tier to the same AlertaChart account. It does not create a new charge. It cannot automatically transfer a purchase made with a different Apple/Google account or linked to a different AlertaChart account.
What should I do if payment fails or I need a refund?
Card, balance, country, tax and payment-decline handling belongs to the purchase provider. Use Apple for iOS, Google Play for Android, or Lemon Squeezy for web checkout and payment support. Before retrying repeatedly, check whether an order was already created in the store. A refund is not the same action as cancellation and remains subject to the provider's review and refund rules.
How does my web or mobile subscription link across devices?
Plan access is linked to your AlertaChart account after a mobile receipt is verified or a web payment webhook is processed. Sign in to the same AlertaChart account when purchasing and on every other device. Using a different Apple, Google or AlertaChart account does not automatically transfer an entitlement.
Which devices does the app work on?
iOS (iPhone/iPad), Android phones, and web browsers (Chrome, Safari, Firefox) are supported.
Are my drawings and settings saved?
Drawings, alerts and chart preferences are saved according to the feature and device. Cross-device cloud synchronization of watchlists and drawings starts with Trader and requires the same signed-in AlertaChart account. Local-only data is not guaranteed to return after browser storage is cleared or the app is removed.
Can I use it without an internet connection?
AlertaChart does not guarantee an offline market-data mode. Live prices, charts, server-monitored alerts, account status and cloud synchronization require an internet connection. A previously loaded screen or application shell may remain visible while offline, but its data can be stale or incomplete and must not be treated as current market information.

Getting Started with AlertaChart: Your First Hour

AlertaChart is a multi-asset charting platform built for traders who want one screen for crypto, equities, and forex with serious technical-analysis tooling underneath. This guide walks you through the first hour: creating an account, opening your first chart, adding pairs to your unified watchlist, and setting your first price alert.

Unified Watchlist: Spot, Futures, Stocks, and Forex on One List

AlertaChart's watchlist is a single list that mixes every asset class you trade, with badges and suffixes telling you what each row is. This is a recent overhaul — older versions kept three separate lists (spot / futures / stock), but a single unified list is faster to scan, easier to share, and removes the constant "I'm in the wrong tab" friction.

Futures and the .P Suffix: How AlertaChart Marks Perpetual Pairs

Binance has both a spot market for BTC/USDT and a perpetual futures market for the same pair. They have different prices, different liquidity, and different orderflow. AlertaChart needs to distinguish them in the watchlist without making you toggle a global "spot vs futures" switch — the convention we use is the .P suffix on the quote asset.

Reading the AlertaChart Chart: Candles, Volume, and Timeframes

Every chart in AlertaChart uses the same vocabulary: candles, wicks, volume bars, and a time axis. This article walks through what each element means, when to switch timeframes, and how to read volume in context — written for the trader who's about to make their first technical-analysis decision on the platform.

Setting Price Alerts That Actually Fire: A Complete Guide

AlertaChart's alert system is the feature most users tell us they upgrade for. The basics are simple — click a price level, pick a direction, wait for the bell. The details are what make it reliable: where the alert fires from, which exchange it's bound to, what happens when your app is closed, and what limits apply on each plan.

Orderflow Toolbox: CVD, Open Interest, Funding, Net Position, Liquidations

Most traders graduate from candle-only analysis to orderflow because the candle tells you what price did — orderflow tells you what the market did to get there. AlertaChart's Orderflow Toolbox is a Pro-tier stack of sub-panes and overlays that you can compose under the main chart to read the institutional flow underneath each candle.

AlertaScript: Writing Your Own Indicators and Strategies

AlertaScript is AlertaChart's custom indicator language. It lets you write your own technical indicators, custom overlays, and full backtestable strategies — all rendered against the same live chart you use every day.

AlertaChart plans: Starter, Trader, Pro and Elite

AlertaChart has a free tier and four paid ones. This article says exactly what each includes, so you can pick the smallest plan that covers what you actually do.

AlertaChart on Mobile: iOS, Android, and the Unified Tab Bar

Drawings, alerts and chart preferences are saved according to the feature and device. Cross-device cloud synchronization of watchlists and drawings starts with Trader and requires the same signed-in AlertaChart account. Local-only data is not guaranteed to return after browser storage is cleared or the app is removed.

Global Equities and Forex on AlertaChart

AlertaChart covers more than crypto. The chart serves 4 equity regions, 46 forex pairs, and 2 index perpetuals.

Live News with Financial Juice + Market Discovery

Markets move on news. AlertaChart embeds the same professional news feed institutional desks rely on — Financial Juice — directly into the platform, and pairs it with the Discover tab and listing notifications so you don't miss anything that moves price.

Troubleshooting: Common Issues and How to Fix Them

Most AlertaChart issues fall into a handful of categories: stale data, missing notifications, lost drawings, or sign-in glitches.

Trading on AlertaChart: Practical Tips and Workflow Patterns

AlertaChart is a tool — what makes it valuable is the workflow you wrap around it. This article shares the most useful patterns we've seen experienced traders adopt, plus a handful of concrete tips that compound over time.
