Chart settings: colours, scales, the status line and templates

Open Chart settings from the gear at the top of the chart, or choose "More settings..." in the price-scale menu. The window can be moved around, and every change is shown on the chart immediately.

Symbol

• Chart type
• Candle body, border and wick colours for rising and falling bars
• Colour bars based on the previous close instead of the open
• Price precision: let AlertaChart choose, or fix the number of decimals

Status line

The status line is the text at the top left of the chart. Choose what it shows: the logo, the symbol as ticker, name or description, whether the market is open, the bar's values, its change, the change since yesterday, volume and indicator values.

Scales

• Put the price scale on the left or the right
• Labels on the scale: last price, previous day close, high and low, symbol name
• A countdown to the bar close, with or without seconds
• The 🔔 button for quick alerts and a percentage badge
• Date format, 12 or 24-hour time and the day of the week on time labels

The last price line

The dashed line at the current price can be shown or hidden. By default it takes the colour of the last candle; you can give it a colour of your own with any opacity, make it solid, dotted or dashed, and choose a width from 1 to 4.

Canvas

• Background: a solid colour or a gradient
• Grid lines: vertical, horizontal, both or none, with their colours
• Crosshair colour and style
• Watermark: show the symbol and timeframe faintly behind the chart
• Top and bottom margins and the empty space on the right
• When the navigation buttons appear

Volume

Show or hide volume, choose buy and sell colours and add a moving average of volume with its own period.

Indicator workspace

Arrange indicator panels side by side or stacked.

Templates

When the chart looks just right, choose "Save as..." under Template and give it a name. Apply it later to any chart in one click, or delete templates you no longer need.

Light and dark

AlertaChart has a light and a dark theme. Switch between them on your account page; the chart follows the theme you choose.
