Commercial Bank of Qatar engages in conventional banking, brokerage services, and credit card business. It operates through the following segments: Wholesale Banking, Retail Banking, International, and Unallocated and Intragroup Transactions. The Wholesale Banking segment provides a range of conventional funded and non-funded credit facilities; demand and time deposit services; currency exchange facilities; interest rate swaps and other derivative trading services; loan syndication; and structured financing services to corporate, commercial, and multinational customers. The Retail Banking segment offers personal current, savings, time, and investment account services; credit card and debit card services; consumer and vehicle loans; residential mortgage services; custodial services to retail and individual customers; and brokerage services. The International segment includes the operations of Alternatif Bank, a subsidiary that provides banking services through its branch network in Turkey. The Unallocated and Intragroup Transactions segment covers certain central functions and non-core business operations. The company was founded on April 10, 1975 and is headquartered in Doha, Qatar.
