Okuwa Co., Ltd. engages in the management of a chain of stores. Its operations are carried out through the Retail and Others divisions. The Retail division deals with the supermarket and book store operations. This division offers food, alcohol, rice, household goods, upholstery, DIY items, leisure and sports goods, electrical appliances, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, and apparel. The Others division operates restaurants, food courts and hotels; sells books, fruits and vegetables; rents out CDs and DVDs; manages facilities including cinema theaters and cram schools; provides cleaning services; and handles imported and development goods. The company was founded by Isamu Okuwa in May 1938 and is headquartered in Wakayama, Japan.
