The Battery segment manufactures, sells, and exports alkaline batteries, Ni-MH batteries, lithium batteries, carbon-zinc batteries, rechargeable batteries, battery devices, lithium-ion capacitors, alkaline batteries, lithium batteries used in fire alarms, as well as nickel-metal hydride batteries, which can be used repeatedly with charging. The Electronics segment provides electronics-related materials, power storage systems, electric lights, production systems for batteries, switching power supplies, direct current power modules, toners, signal processing modules for liquid crystal displays, and others. The company was founded on February 1, 1950 and is headquartered in Tokyo, Japan.
