It operates through the following divisions Collagen Materials Business and Formula Solutions Business. The Collagen Materials Business division manufactures and sells gelatin, collagen peptide, collagen casing, collagen and other products made from animal bones and skin or fish scales and fish skin. The Formula Solutions Business division manufactures and sells food formulations such as edible gelling agents and quality stabilizers that are used in confectionery, desserts, delicatessen items, and chilled foods, as well as hot-melt adhesives that are used for packaging, bookbinding, and others. It also engages in the production and sale of adhesives for packaging, bookbinding, building materials and hygiene products. The company was founded by Chojiro Nitta in January 1918 and is headquartered in Osaka, Japan.
