Lai Sun Development Co. Ltd. is an investment holding company, which engages in property development, property investment, investment in and operation of hotels and restaurants. It operates through the following segments: Property Development and Sales, Property Investment, Hotel Operation, Restaurant and F&B Product Sales Operations, Media and Entertainment, Film and Television (TV) program, Cinema Operation, Theme Park Operation, and Others. The Property Investment segment invests in commercial and office buildings for their rental income potential and provides building management services. The Hotel Operation segment is composed of the operation of and provision of consultancy services to hotels and serviced apartments. The Restaurant and F&B Product Sales Operations segment operates restaurants and sells food and beverage products. The Media and Entertainment segment refers to artist management services, album sales, and the distribution and licensing of music and trading of gaming products. The Film and TV program segment caters related advertising services as well as the distribution of video format products derived from these films and films licensed-in by the group. The Cinema Operation segment covers cinemas in Hong Kong and Mainland China. The Others segment represents yacht business, the provision of property management services, leasing agency services, and building service. The company was founded by Yen Lim Por in 1987 and is headquartered in Hong Kong.
