Bakkafrost P/F engages production and sale of a wide range of salmon products. It operates through the following segments: Farming Faroe Islands (FO), Farming Scotland (STC), Value Added Products (VAP), and Fishmeal, Oil and Feed (FOF). The FO segment is involved in the breeding and on-growing of salmon as well as the harvesting, sales, and distribution of salmon. The STC segment represents the operating business of Bakkafrost Scotland Ltd. The VAP segment is a significant share of the farmed products and the distinction between outputs sold to the industrial market and the value-added products for the end-consumers in the retail market. The FOF segment is comprised of the production, and sale of fishmeal, fish oil, and fish feed. The company was founded by Hans Jacobsen and Roland Jacobsen in 1968 and is headquartered in Glyvrar, Faroe Islands.
