It operates through the following business units: Makeup, Skincare, and Hair and Body. The Makeup business unit specializes in the creation, research, development, production, and marketing of color cosmetics for the face and body which are categorized into powders, wet powders, foundations, lipsticks, delivery systems which includes mascara, and nail lacquers. The Skincare unit focuses on the development of dermatological treatments in the form of creams, serums, and lotions. The Hair and Body unit involves in the formulation and marketing of a full range of products for hair care and styling, bath and body hygiene, and fragrances. The company was founded by Dario Gianandrea Ferrari in 1972 and is headquartered in Agrate Brianza, Italy.
